The <A HREF="http://www.lightreading.com/document.asp?doc_id=103202" REL="nofollow">FCC is also rolling back LLU</A> by <A HREF="http://www.lightreading.com/document.asp?doc_id=91238" REL="nofollow">simply doing nothing</A> when challenged, which allows Verizon and other telecomms free rein.<BR/><BR/>Only with US wide Local Loop Unbundling Regulation and the restoration of Network Neutrality protection via meaningful regulation and oversight by an agency that will actually do something about noncompliance (the FCC rarely does, when it comes to the Telecomms) will the US eventually be able to regain some broadband ground lost to countries like Japan, France, Sweden, Korea and Norway.<BR/><BR/>The Telecomms have squandered billions of taxpayer dollars that were given to them in tax subsidies since 1996. They've used much of that money to line campaign coffers and pay lobbyists to degrade consumer choices further.
